Salmo niloticus (part.) Linnaeus in Hasselquist, 1762: 422. The oldest specimens of this species now available are those examined by Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, from Nile River: MNHN n° A-7229, A-8603, A-9587, A-9588 and A-9878.
