Lectotype BMNH n° 1911.11.27: 1 (selected by Hopson & Hopson, 1965); paralectotypes BMNH n° 1911.11.27: 2, 1912.2.15: 13 to 15 and 1912.5.31: 8 to 11.
    • Enteromius potamogalis Cope, 1867: 405. Type locality: "Gabon"? Holotype not found; paratypes (2) MNHN n° 4685.
    • Puntius (Barbodes) ablabes Bleeker, 1863 a: 114, pl. 23, fig. 1. Type locality: "Dabo Krom, Guinea", Southern Ghana (fide Trewavas, 1974). Syntypes RMNH n° 2466.
