  • Current distribution known : West-Africa: Niger, Benue, Ouémé(unconfirmed), Senegal, Chad. Also found in the Volta and Mono rivers. Lower Guinea: Cross and Sanaga basins. Widespread throughout the Congo River basin. Also reported from Nile, Omo, Zambezi, Limpopo, Rovuma, Shire, Rufiji, Ruaha, Lake Tanganyika, Lake Rukwa, Lake Albert and Lake Kariba, Malagarazi, Okavango and lower reaches of coastal systems south to Pongolo .
